Guava Chutney - Amrood Chutney - Recipe by Annuradha Toshniwal - Vegetarian [HD]
Preparation Time - 10-15 mins
Serves 4-6 people
INGREDIENTS-
4 guavas cut bite sized (seeds removed)
2-3 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon onion seeds
1 teaspoon mustard seeds (rai)
1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
1 teaspoon anise (saunf)
1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds (methi seeds)
2-3 green chillies slit
curry leaves
red chilli powder
red pepper
sugar
salt
1/2 cup jaggery
asafoetida powder
METHOD-
- Add 2-3 tablespoons of oil into a hot round bottom pan. Once the oil is hot, add 1/4 tsp. of asafoetida powder. Add red chillies, green chillies and curry leaves. Once they splutter, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, onion seeds, anise and fenugreek seeds.
- Once they stop spluttering, add guavas to the pan. Keep stirring well.
- Add a little bit of water and wait for the guavas to soften.
- Once the guavas become soft, add red chilli powder. Add more water. Add salt as per taste.
- Add jaggery (a little more than 1/4 cup) once the guavas are cooked well. Add 2-3 teaspoons of sugar once the jaggery melts.
